Our approach

For guaranteed high-quality French honeys

Our cooperative is unique in its structure, visibility, and approach. With a hybrid model combining honey producers and bottlers, we are unlike any other player in the beekeeping sector. Behind this choice is our commitment to mastering production from hive to jar, offering you the very best of local terroirs from across France !

1958

Back in 1958, a group of French beekeepers began reflecting on their industry and craft, despite their very different situations. They realised that unity is strength and that forming a collective could bring them significant human and economic benefits. Above all, they shared a common passion for bees. Inspired by the organization and teamwork of these incredible insects, they decided to adopt the exact same approach.

This led to the creation of the “France Miel” cooperative, which was renamed “Les Compagnons du Miel” in 2015.

Why unite as a cooperative ?

The cooperative has enabled producers to unite their economic, social, and cultural needs and aspirations. Since 1958, it has brought together generations of beekeepers around a shared vision: a strong, united beekeeping sector rooted in mutual support, fairness, and equality.

« What I liked was the idea of not being alone and having easy contact with other beekeepers. I also appreciate knowing where and how my honey is sold, knowing that I can find it in jars across the country while being confident it remains a high-quality product. »

Isabelle, Les Compagnons du Miel beekeeper in the Meuse region.

Our purpose

We aim to prove that a human-centered, collective business model can change market dynamics through concrete, proven commitments.

Our honey shows that it is possible to combine respect for bees, producers, and consumers.

« Joining the cooperative in 2021 felt like a natural choice. It’s a way of working that suits us perfectly, and it gives us great satisfaction to see our honeys valued through Les Compagnons du Miel. It allows us to spend much more time caring for our bees. »

Mathilde & Patrice, Les Compagnons du Miel beekeepers in Alpes-de-Haute-Provence region.

Bees are incredible insects on which our future depends. We represent a network of 55,279 beehives that, through their direct pollination action, contribute to the balance of the plant kingdom and therefore to a shared future for us all.

Our honeys come directly from our beekeepers. No intermediaries, no trading—our harvests come straight from our producers' local harvests. This means you can find all our honeys in the stores closest to you.

In addition to your guarantee of producer-owned honey, we ensure the qualification and analysis of every harvest. Geographical origin, floral denomination, taste, and physicochemical quality: every honey is tested and certified!

Colours, textures, flavours: honey comes in many forms. Thanks to our diversity of terroirs, you can discover essential honeys like Acacia, rare varieties like Coriander, and honeys from different regions. A truly rich botanical treasure!
