The chestnut tree, giant of Île-de-France forests.
Harvested in Île-de-France, this liquid honey with an amber color and fluid texture unfolds robust and slightly full-bodied flavors. Chestnut honey is distinguished by its intense, woody taste with a slight hint of tannins.
Unlike the vast majority of honeys, chestnut honey is not derived from flower nectar but from honeydew, a viscous secretion produced by aphids living on the chestnut tree.
Île-de-France, the green lung around Paris.
Known for its vast forests and natural parks, this region offers a preserved setting where our bees forage in complete peace. Chestnut trees, numerous in these woods, provide a precious nectar that our beekeepers gather with care.
The resulting honey is the fruit of this generous Nature and local beekeeping tradition.

Highlighting the best of the harvests
For the cooperative’s laboratory team selecting Miel et Miels® harvests, close collaboration with beekeepers is essential to showcase the fruit of their labor.
Producers establish a pre-selection by specifying floral varieties and apiary locations. All honeys are then validated by the expert palates of our “honey sommeliers,” who have been working alongside them for nearly thirty years.
Finally, the laboratory performs the necessary analyses to confirm the botanical designation.
