🌿 Did you know?
Alder Buckthorn (Frangula alnus) thrives in the temperate climate and wooded areas of Nouvelle-Aquitaine, notably in the Landes forest. Because its bloom is sporadic between April and July, harvesting this rare nectar requires beekeepers to meticulously move hives to follow peak blossoms, making every harvest precious and highly sought-after.
With its smooth, liquid texture, Nouvelle-Aquitaine Alder Buckthorn Honey is wonderful simply enjoyed by the spoonful or used to elevate gourmet desserts. Its delicate caramelized notes bring a delicious touch to pavlovas, apple tarts, or fruit tiramisus.
Like all our honeys, it has been harvested with care by our Cooperative’s beekeepers and underwent strict production and packaging processes, with certified 100% hive-to-jar traceability. Nouvelle-Aquitaine Alder Buckthorn Honey is certified Agri-Éthique French Fair Trade, allowing you to enjoy all the benefits of honey while supporting producers and the French beekeeping sector.
